A dying craft 一个垂死的工艺 ...

RASA, the name of a small town with 120  years of history
about 50 km from the city of Kuala Lumpur ...

A small town of historical significance, where Chinese were brought here
in the early 1900's for tin mining.
A town witnessed both world war I and world war II now
sees the potential of its latest development in 750 acres of industrial land ....

but with such development and job provisions in the industrial sector,
what will happen to the craft industry here ...

I guest soon after the last generation of craftsman are gone in this small down,
we shall see the demise of this craft industry in this little town ...

The young generations are definitely not keen to work
under these conditions, as the elderly craftsman who owns this shop
tell us the story of his life in this small town ...

he told us that factories can make these objects easily and cheaper as well
with mass production ...

I wonder what will happen to this 100 year old shop in a
few years time ...

Difficult to preserve tradition, but it is extremely important I think, is the story of a people.

Wow Wong. You go to the most interesting places! Love the angles from which you've shot the pictures. I need to be a little more creative!
