I am Nikon 我是尼康 ...

The Release of the Nikon 1 series
a new bread of camera
for the size of a compact but the price of a DSLR
...
I have been using a Nikon DSLR for 2 years
and really have been thinking about a second
camera which is a compact (certainly not the Nikon 1)
...
I would really like to be able to carry around
that compact most of the time as I cannot do with the DSLR,
So something like the Canon S100, Nikon P9100, Lumix LX5
have been in my mind,
or any camera you can suggest

The new Nikon Coolpix P7100
with quite a lot of manual settings like a DSLR

One thing I like about it
is they really let you try everything

I love the technology and the Nikon compact cameras, making it easier and much shipping.

I am a Nikon owner going on 20 years or so. I still have a F3 (High Point) and FM2 as well as a D-90. I do really love, however, my Lumix LX5 which isn't a pocket camera but small enough for most occasions when I don't want to carry the DSLR.

I know one of your camera pro bloggers will be able to suggest an excellent camera for you...as for me I learn from you and enjoy your photos

Nice, this info. I also have a small camera that is always in my bag, it is a panasonic with 10x zoom, quite nice!
But, of course the big DSLR has many more options that I love...

Hay momentos en los que llevar una reflex grande es un autentico estorbo,y nos gustaría llevar una compacta con un buen zoom, cualquiera de las que nos apuntas seria buena, aunque yo soy canonista.
Un saludo

I use nikon and canon. But for daily use i suggest a kind of nikon s100 . A real pocketable camera. Sony has also one but i don't know the name or a Pentax or Olympus tough. Don't think to much but shoot. Sometimes i make photo's with my iphone and they are also usable for my computerblog. The point is can you carry it and shoot with no trouble at all. The quality of the little ones is amazing these days.

I am a Canon person, so I can't say I know too much about Nikon products. I always tote around my DSLR, but we do have a Sony small camera that is fair. I have heard that the Canon Powershot is quite good.

I had the same thoughts several months ago and bought a Canon S90. I'm not that pleased with it though, but maybe I'm comparing it to my DSLR too much.

Wong this place looks like so much fun, I could spend an entire day here! I carry with me a Sony Cybershot DSC-T90. It's extremely compact but after carrying it around now for about a year and a half in my purse I think it needs a good cleaning. I'll have to take it in. What I love about it is it's a Carl Zeiss lens, my only dislike is it's only a 4x zoom. A very compact handy camera that generally takes some pretty amazing shots. Please keep us posted as to what you choose, if the cleaning doesn't look after this compact I own I'm going to replace it after I'm done with this education and get out to work.

Have a wonderful day, mine can only get better, it's almost done! ;-)

With skill, one can snap just as good quality pictures with a compact camera as with a DSLR, and of course they are much more convenient to carry around!

Nice, but definitely the price wouldn't be low, not suitable for me in recent years, while i'm trying to earn more to buy me one

Eheh, you loved that release exhibition didn't you :D. I sense you have a very big fetish for nikon cameras (and perhaps other labels and technologies).
Photos are so concentrated in the machines details and exhibition overall, that I see no photos of other people actually experimenting with the cameras as well :D

But in retrospect, I see at least, the experimentation and fascination of one person, the photographer.

Regards.

If you still look for an new and powerful compact camera, I really can recommend the new SONY DSC-HX20V!

http://www.sony.co.uk/product/dsc-h-series/dsc-hx20v

I bought one last month (for my wife) and I'm really impressed about the technical features including the quality of the pictures of this compact camera.
Even available light photography with the (25 -) 500mm focal lenght leads to brillinat results!

THIS is my (tested and bought) recommendation for you, CW.
